How do I use image effects?
The CEWE PHOTO BOOK Software has a range of image effects that can be used to further personalize your books. These include grey scale, sepia, negative, etc.
Classic Version:
Double click on the image in order to activate the image editor. In the menu on the right hand side of the screen you will find a list of effects which can be applied to your image. Click on an effect and the preview image will automatically be altered. All changes can be nullified by clicking on »Original«. Once you are satisfied with the changes, click on »OK« to return to the pages in your photo book. The image will only be altered for your current CEWE PHOTO BOOK. The original file on your hard drive will not be altered.
Aero Version:
Click on an image. You can choose from different image effects in the section »Image options« in the tool bar found above the editor. The preview image will be immediately changed. The image will only be altered for your current CEWE PHOTO BOOK. The original file on your hard drive will not be altered.
Note:
Both versions of the Software allow you to decide if you would like the images in your CEWE PHOTO BOOK to be enhanced during the production process or not. To do this please go to the section »Settings« in the main menu. The automatic image optimization (ABK) enhances over and under exposed images and removes any color distortion from the images. In the Aero Version of the Software you can only define if the »Image Otimization« should be activated for all images or not. In the Classic Version you can activate or deactivate this feature for individual images by a right clicking on an image. If you have edited/altered your images (e.g. in Photoshop or any other image editing Software) you should deactivate the automatic image optimization in the CEWE PHOTO BOOK Software in order to maintain the changes you have made.
How do I crop images?
In order to crop your image, simply click on the +/- buttons below »Size« in the menu to the right of the editing area in the Classic Version of the Software or click on teh +/- magnifier buttons in the section »Image options« found in the tool bar above the editing area of the Aero Version of the Software. Cropping the image may have an effect on the quality of your image, please pay attention to the Image Quality Indicator (Smiley). By clicking on the image you are cropping, you will be able to move the image within the image field in order to get the perfect crop.
How do I reposition an image?
You'd like to reposition your image on the page?
Move the mouse over the grey frame surrounding the image. The icon will change into a cross. By pressing the left mouse button you will be able to drag the image field onto any position within the CEWE PHOTO BOOK double page.
In order to rotate the image field, simply click on the rotation point found within the image field (in the middle of the upper section). To change the size of the image field, click on any of the 4 yellow or grey corner markers on the frame. Simply drag the image field until it has the correct size.
Hint:
For an exact placement, you can activate a grid. Open the context menu with a right mouse click. Select »Show grid«. This grid will help you align your images. If you would like to have the grid activated permanently select this option in »Settings«.
How does the Image Quality Indicator work?
The Image Quality Indicator shows you if the image you have selected has a high enough resolution to ensure a good print result or not. Please keep in mind that the size of the image field and the crop you have chosen will also have an effect on the quality level.
